What sources of data does Fabulate Discovery utilise to gather information on creators?
Data for public creators is gathered from a range of publicly available sources, including about sections, captions, post descriptions, images, and videos. All this information is then organised and brought together inside the Fabulate Discovery + Outreach platform.
Our Machine Learning models process this data to deliver clear insights into creators and their audiences. You’ll see metrics like growth rate, engagement rate, and indicators of fake followers. The heavy lifting happens behind the scenes, so you can quickly evaluate creators with confidence and focus on making the right choices for your campaign.
Are creators signed up to the Fabulate platform?
Fabulate uses a hybrid approach to Discovery + Outreach, giving you access to multiple layers of creator data. This includes publicly available information, insights from creators who have joined the platform, and details provided through partnerships with talent agencies. Depending on how each creator is set up, you can view their data, contact their agent, or reach out to them directly through the platform’s built in Outreach tool.
To keep things simple during contracting and billing, we recommend inviting creators to sign up once you’ve connected and agreed on a fee. This lets you keep the conversation in one place and take advantage of streamlined workflows that make approvals and payments much easier.
How does Fabulate Discovery analyse follower data?
Age is estimated using AI that analyses the creator’s photos and profile images. This is refreshed regularly by reviewing recent selfies and any age related details shared in their bio. Gender is inferred by looking at cues like photos, captions, and names. For example, if a creator is named Sarah and consistently shares images of a woman’s face, they’ll be classified as female.
Location is identified by analysing a mix of signals, including location tags, languages used, descriptions, captions, and bios. By combining these elements, we can determine the most accurate location associated with the creator.
How does Fabulate Discovery detect inactive followers?
Fabulate Discovery employs network graph analysis to assess the authenticity of followers and likes. By evaluating hundreds of millions of accounts, we establish a baseline for typical social media user behaviour. This behaviour is then compared to the average behaviour within the specific network. Accounts that fall below a certain score threshold are identified as potentially inactive. Several criteria are considered in this scoring process, including the presence of a profile image, the ratio of following to followers, the account's age, the number of posts, and the availability of a bio.
Can Fabulate Discovery identify data on an influencer's sponsored content?
Sponsored posts are detected using around 50 different indicators that signal when content is paid. This includes hashtags like #sponsored, #ad, and #paid, as well as in platform disclosure tools such as Instagram’s Paid Partnership label. When these signals appear, the post is flagged and categorised as sponsored.
Fabulate Discovery can surface up to 10 sponsored posts per creator. In most cases, we review the past two calendar months or the most recent 500 posts. For long standing accounts, we may also have access to older sponsored content if it’s available.
How frequently is the data in Fabulate Discovery updated to ensure accuracy and relevance?
There are three layers of data that make up Fabulate Discovery:
- Basic profile data: followers, influencer handle and creator name
- Basic user data: URL, profile picture, engagements, engagement rate, verification, bio recent posts, post count
- Analysed data: audience data, average likes, popular posts etc.
Basic profile data is updated as often as a profile is refreshed. Basic user data is updated bi-weekly. Analysed data is updated on a minimum of a monthly basis.

This includes valuable metrics like growth rate, engagement rate, and even the detection of fake followers. Complex mathematical computations are efficiently handled by computers, enabling you to quickly evaluate and authenticate influencers and creators.
Can Fabulate Discovery provide data on an influencer’s content niche or industry focus?
Fabulate Discovery includes tools that identify interest categories for both creators and their audiences. We also pull in insights from the hashtags, topics, and keywords creators use most often. Their bio descriptions are analysed as well, since they usually highlight the creator’s niche or area of expertise.
